Instructor Positions Open at Denver Family Institute
Denver Family Institute (DFI) offers a dynamic two-year Marriage and Family Therapy training program designed for clinicians who want to deepen their expertise in working with individuals, intimate partners of all relationship types and structures, and families.
As a post-graduate, private non-profit institute accredited by the Commission on Marriage and Family Therapy Education (COAMFTE), DFI combines rigorous clinical training with a supportive learning community. Students gain hands-on experience while learning from highly skilled faculty who are practicing therapists and leaders in the field.
Graduates of DFI receive a certificate that meets all educational requirements to become a Marriage and Family Therapy Candidate (MFT-C) through the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA)
DFI is seeking instructors for the following courses: Trauma and Attachment in Families, Systemic Treatment of Substance Use, and Family and Play: Assessment and Interventions.
Contracted Instructors join the DFI Faculty for the 2025–2026 Academic Year, with the opportunity for contract renewal based on performance. As valued members of our teaching community, faculty participate in bi-monthly meetings, typically held virtually on Wednesday mornings from 9:30–11:30 am, as well as our annual All Faculty Retreat each June.
We are excited to announce open instructor opportunities for the upcoming academic year in Systemic Treatment of Substance Use, Trauma and Attachment in Families, and Play Therapy: Interventions and Assessments. These courses give instructors the opportunity to share their expertise, mentor future marriage and family therapists, and be part of a collaborative and supportive faculty community.
Requirements:
● License in Marriage and Family Therapy (LMFT) in the State of Colorado (alternative licenses will be considered on a case-by-case basis)
● Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience (Post-Graduate)
● Ability to attend bi-monthly faculty meetings
● Ability to attend annual faculty retreat
● Proficient computer skills to work with Google Classroom and manage a DFI email address
● Demonstrated commitment to anti-racism and social justice
Preferred Qualifications: Prior teaching experience
Compensation & Benefits:
Compensation is $2,200 for facilitating the 5-week course.
