Hello,
My name is Danielle Barcelo and I am a doctoral student at National University. I am conducting a paid research study on the perceptions of licensed marriage and family therapists (LMFTs) in regard to the most effective modalities/approaches and interventions to address high-conflict post-divorced or separated co-parenting (H-CP-D/SC-P) dynamics for the best interest of the children and adolescents involved in this dynamic.
I am recruiting individuals who meet all of these criteria and you may participate in this research if you meet all of the following criteria:
1. You have a current and active license in your state as a marriage and family therapist.
2. You currently work with or have previously worked with H-CP-D/SC-P clients who are either court-involved or referred to therapy for high-conflict issues affecting the children and/or adolescents and co-parenting system.
3. You have worked with at least five of these types of cases either currently or in the past, or at least 10 to 20 percent of your current or previous caseload involves H-CP-D/SC-P.
I hope to include between 10 and 30 people in this research.
What you will be asked to do: If you agree to participate in this study, the survey is anonymous and you will be asked to do the following activities:
1. Complete 10 demographic questions in round one of the online survey that will take approximately for 2-5 minutes (at the beginning of the round one survey)
2. Complete round one of the online 26 question survey that will take approximately for 15-25 minutes
3. Complete round two of the online 20-30 question survey that will take approximately for 15-25 minutes
During these activities, you will be asked questions about:
• Your age, sex, gender, race, ethnicity, income, sexual orientation, employment status, geographical location, type of graduate degree, type of license, and how long you have been working with the population being studied.
• Your interpretation of how children and/or adolescents and co-parents are positively or negatively impacted by the H-CP-D/SC-P system
• Your recommended approach, theory/modality, intervention, or technique that is most effective for the success of these types of cases, according to your experience working with this population.
• Your thoughts and ideas on how the children and/or adolescents and co-parents cope with this conflict.
Participants will be provided a $25 e-gift card (up to 30 participants per round) for each round of the study (two rounds). To ask questions, please contact me at D.Barcelo2929@o365.ncu.edu.
Please read this form carefully and ask any questions you may have before agreeing to take part in this study.

Benefits: If you participate, there are no direct benefits to you. This research may increase the body of knowledge in the subject area of this study.
Recording: I would like to record your responses with the SurveyMonkey questionnaire that you fill out to categorize your responses with the other participant’s responses and create the round two questionnaire. Your survey responses will be provided to you for you to review and provide any clarifying information or corrections.
Compensation: After you complete the questionnaire for each round (two rounds) of the research findings, you will be provided a $25 e-gift Card (up to 30 participants per round) by emailing me at D.Barcelo2929@o365.ncu.edu for each round of the questionnaire you complete (two rounds).
